SUYOG (सुयोग) is a free assistant for school teachers, run by the SUYOG team. This page explains what we collect, why, and how we keep it safe. We follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

What we collect about teachers

• When you sign in with Google: your name, email address and profile picture. We never see your Google password.
• Your WhatsApp number, which we ask once after sign-in during the pilot. The SUYOG team uses it only to help you and to ask what works; it is never shown to principals or other teachers, never sold and never used for ads. To change or remove it, write to us.
• What you enter in SUYOG: your school, board, classes, subjects, timetable, chapters and teaching progress.

What we collect about students

• Only what a teacher enters: the child's name, roll number and a short app code (for example MNJ-12), plus notes, homework status and achievements the teacher records.
• A parent's phone number only if the teacher chooses to add it, with the parent's consent.
• We do not collect children's photos, addresses, Aadhaar, caste, religion or health details.
• Parent reports show only achievements and levels. No ranks, weaknesses or comparisons with other children.

How we use it

• To show your Today page, lesson plans, cards, student portfolios, homework and parent messages.
• To save your work so it opens on any phone or laptop where you sign in.
• Some features use an AI service (Anthropic's Claude) to write cards, lesson plans and messages. A child's name is never sent to the AI; it is replaced by a code like CHILD_1 and added back on your device.
• We do not sell your data, show ads, or share it for marketing. There are no public ratings of teachers.

Where it is stored

Data is stored with Supabase in their Mumbai (India) region, protected so that each teacher can read only their own records. The app is served by Vercel. Some data is also kept on your own device so SUYOG works with a weak network.

Your choices

• You can edit your classes and notes at any time.
• Signing out removes the copy kept on that device.
• To get a copy of your data or have it deleted, write to suyogteacherapp@gmail.com. We will act within 30 days.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and tell users in the app.
